What is red light therapy?

Put simply, it is the practice of using red and infrared light for favourable health outcomes, such as improved sleep, recovery, collagen production, energy production, and much more.

It sounds a bit woowoo, does it actually work?

I was very skeptical at first. However, having watched many hours of lectures, learning the science behind how light affects human physiology, and the principles of "photobiomodulation' (using light to modulate our biology), and then beginning digging through the thousands of studies proving the efficacy of red light therapy for a multitude of things, as well as thousands of testimonials and anecdotes, I was convinced, and so I began using the devices myself.

LuxR - The story.

I have personally used red light devices for over 7 years to help me recover and get a great night's sleep. It's only over the last 6 months I've started to use infrared devices to benefit my energy levels, help accelerate recovery, and much more.

I was looking for red light devices I could trust. I was looking for the right wavelengths of light, the right power, the right quality of led, etc. Devices at least CE marked, but ideally FCC and RoHS marked too.

I looked, and found that a lot of the most beneficial products were out of the price range of most people.
